Our Year in Music

It’s been a long wait….for EVERYONE….but with the improving covid situation we are now in a position to announce our plans for 2021/22. We are quite excited….

Composer Paul Carr has honoured us by dedicating the Spring section of his Four New Seasons to Bath Minerva Choir and we very much hope to do it justice when we perform the whole work this Autumn at Bath Abbey.

It promises to be a thrilling evening, with one of the countries most brilliant soloists, violinist Braimah Kannah-Mason performing Vivaldi’s Four Seasons with Bath Philharmonia as the first half, followed by the World Premiere of Paul Carr’s choral and orchestral response. We will talk more about the new work in later posts so keep an eye out!

From the brand new to the well trodden, yet always impressive Bach, St. John Passion, which we perform in the Abbey next April. We have another supremely excellent soloist lined up, who will be revealed in due course.

Then fast forward to the Summer 2022 when we once again run our two day workshop (non-residential) open to non members. This year we will study the epic Glagolitic Mass by Janacek. Two days of exploration, learning, solo masterclass and we might squeeze a bit of fun in there too!
