Welcome to Bath Minerva Choir! |

|
We are a friendly, non-auditioning choir with high performance standards. Our next concert will be on Saturday, April 26th, in Bath Abbey, which also happens to be the eve of the Russian Orthodox Easter Day. Appropriately, we will be performing music in the great Russian Orthodox tradition: excerpts from Rachmaninov’s Vespers, Tchaikovsky’s Liturgy of St John Chrysostom and other pieces by the Russian masters, together with several works by John Tavener including his great Svyati for choir and solo cello. We will be joined by internationally famous cellist, Tim Hugh. In May we participate in the Frome Festival Chorus Weekend School 2008 - details And for something completely different, as they say, on Sunday June 29th we will be singing Verdi opera choruses and arias in an afternoon concert at the Assembly Rooms. For our third concert of the year, on November 22nd, again in Bath Abbey, we will be performing Leonard Bernstein's Chichester Psalms and Morton Lauridsen's Lux Aeterna. We rehearse on Saturday mornings at 10.30 and are now rehearsing for our April concert under our new conductor, Gavin Carr. We are actively looking for new members in all voices, especially tenors, and welcome both experienced singers and the less confident. See Join the Choir.
